A Selected Grouping of key Web Sites dealing with the London Theatre
(These links were operating as of the time they were placed here.)

The London Theatre Guide

This is the official site of the Society of London Theatres. It covers theatre news, the bill of fare at over 100 theatres (not just the west end), and ticket purchasing. Even better, there is a link to the Tickets Booth where you can click again to see the day's offerings at the Half Price Booth in Leicester Square. The list is updated each day at noon. You are not guaranteed that a show on the list will still be available by the time you get to the booth and of course some venues may dump tickets to the booth later in the afternoon, but checking this link could save you a trip all the way to the West End just to see what's up on a given day. This is the first source I've found that lists the daily offerings outside of the booth proper.

Albemarle of London
A comprehensive site by one of London's best ticket agencies. Information on all West End Plays and Concerts. Also reviews, theatre descriptions, seating plans, maps, general tourist information, and of course on-line purchase of tickets by credit card.

Theatre Monkey: A Guide to London Theatre and Concert Venues
Steve Rich, the theatre monkey, offers you commentary, features, venue description, seating plans, and lists of the top shows. More a personal impression of the scene than a commercial site, but you can order tickets.

Half Price Theatre Ticket Booth in London's Leicester Square

The London Map
This splendid little hi-tech gem is not specifically oriented toward theatre, but it is an appealing adjunct for anyone familiar with the city or contemplating a trip. A click on any of a hundred or so locations on a central London map accesses a 360 degree panorama from that spot. Many of the locations, from Piccadilly Circus to the Millennium Bridge, are on London Theatre Walks routes. The panoramic pictures glow with universal summer sunshine, misleading perhaps as to London’s general weather, but they do show a city teeming with life. Some pictorial evocations of the city make the mistake of trying to eliminate the human element in order to emphasize its architectural monuments. http://www.the-london-map.co.uk

London Weather
This site gives you the current weather in London plus longer range forecasts. Also some links to standard travel and lodging opportunities.
